Big apple is watching you: iPhone 'Anti-sexting' control will stop people sending rude words through their mobiles...
Website information that I used for this article...
Sex-ting s such a huge problem for teens, even adults. iPhone has a plan to fix this problem. Apple has been awarded a patent to stop users from sex-ting or sending inappropriate messages on their phones. Apple has not yet released the details of how it works, but only revealed that its 2008 application with the U.S patent office has finally been approved.
Will this new app stop users from being so nasty through text. If you have apple, you will finally have it programed into your phone. This will not stop sex-ting completely, but it may slow down the rate of sex-ting. The control application may require the user to replace the unauthorized text or may automatically delete the text or the entire communication.
Previously, iPhone apps have made it impossible for users to text while driving. They also banned them from dialing certain number at certain times.
This effects the world because students are being bullied because of sex-ting. This app can now abolish most sex-ting by letting parents know what is going on. When kids press the send button, they can never get that picture or text back. If we can stop this, there would be peace for a lot of kids. Teens have committed suicide over this problem, so if we present something to stop it, there wouldn't be so many teens thinking they aren't worth living.
So bottom line, whether you like sex-ting or not, apple will ban it completely. If you don't have an apple phone you have nothing to worry about. I personally see a lot wrong with sex-ting. I think this is a great idea. Kids stay on their phones constantly, this just lets their parents know they aren't doing the dirty. The last thing you want to do is type in a naughty word, but when you do..your parents will see everything, and I mean everything. The best solution for this problem, STOP SEX-TING!

Scams And Schemes
This week was all about scams and schemes. We took a closer
look at what is real and what is not real. Things may seem to look very
professional to you, but the real truth is…it’s not. Getting on your laptop
everyday means seeing ads all of the time, yes or no? Believe it or not, most
of the ads you see are FAKE. These ads are made from internet predators waiting
for someone to come along and fall for their ads.
These people steal your identity by asking for credit card numbers, birth dates, full names, social security numbers, phone numbers, and more. This is called a scam. People will do anything to steal peoples identity, this is called identity theft. When you get your identity stolen, it's one of the most horrible things you can go through. Getting your identity stolen means being under a sea of debt. When you open these ads and give your information to these people, this means you are vulnerable. When appear to be vulnerable, it is very easy for other ads to pull you in. When you get those phony emails, pop-up messages, social media messages, texts, calls, or links to fake websites in order to hook you into giving out your personal information is called phishing. This effects me because later in life when I have a bank account, I will have to watch my back and be careful about what I click on.

5 ways to protect yourself from online scammers:
Try to avoid opening the message or email in the first place. Not only can they steal your information, they can give your computer a virus. Try not to click on any links or download any attachments. Clicking on any links can also give your computer a virus. Don't reply to the recipient. This will give them the hint that you are not interested. Mark it as "junk mail" or "spam" into your email just to get rid of it.
Our web 2.0 for this week was Tagxedo. This web 2.0 device lets you make somewhat like a wordle. You type in the words you want, press submit and it forms into a jumble of words. After making this wordle, you can change the font, color, shape, etc. This web 2.0 device is very fun to use, and it makes your lesson plan very interesting. I see nothing wrong with this new device. Below is a Tagxedo I made, and the URL for this amazing website:

Tech Current Event
Topic:People Hacking Into Online Banks
Hacking Into Bank Accounts. Is It The Banks Responsibility?
Summary:
Nowadays people use online services to do banking. It is fast, easy, and your money is safe. Well not so much. Things you should know about online banking is that it is easy for people to hack into your account. It is as easy as one, two, three. As of right now, Wells Fargo is the latest bank to be hacked into. Making sure that your password for your bank account is something that will keep your money safe, yes, your password is what your money rides on. Sometimes though, hackers don't need a password, that's right, they don't need a password. Lots of hackers break through the firewall and there goes your money. The question is whether the bank can be held responsible. Truth is, you are responsible for keeping your passwords, and keeping your money. If you don't feel safe using online banking, just use your local teller, it's that easy. “You are responsible for keeping your password, account numbers,
personal identification information and other account information
confidential. You are also responsible for using a compatible web
browser that has a high security standard. The Bank is not responsible
for customer errors or negligent use of Online Banking and will not be
liable for losses due to negligent handling or sharing of passwords or
leaving your computer unattended during access. The Bank will not be
liable if you, or anyone you allow, commits any fraud or violates any
law or regulation, or if you have not properly followed the instructions
using Online Banking.” (Norman) Website For This Quote: Quotes Website
Reaction:
This affects me because I have a bank account with Wells Fargo. My account is used for gathering interest. My mother put in 2,000 dollars when I was born to gather interest so I could go to college. If someone hacked into my account, I wouldn't be able to go to college. It makes me stress sometimes knowing that someone somewhere has this evil thought on their mind. Losing my college money would devastate me.
World Impact:
This impacts the world because people are losing their money fast. Times are tough nowadays. People are losing their money left and right. In this economy people can't afford to lose their money. People are making a huge deal out of it. It is happening almost all the time. If this doesn't stop, we will just simply go broke.

Weekly Review Blog 11/1/12
| http://www.net-tracking.com/internet-marketing/paid-search-ppc/ | Description:targeted person Date:Feb/12/2011 |
We have had an interesting week. We had some new terms this week. These terms are shown below.
Track: When companies collect information about you based on your online behavior.
Target: When companies tailor content to you based on the information they have collected about you.
Demographic: Common categories of the population, such as age, gender, and race.
Cookies: Data files are stored on your computer when you visit certain sites, they are often used by companies to identify repeat customers and personalize visitors' experiences.
Pop-ups: A type of window that appears on top of (over) the browser window of a Web site that a user has visited. In contrast to a pop-under ad, which appears behind (in back of) the browser window, a pop-up is more obtrusive as it covers other windows, particularly the window that the user is trying to read. Pop-ups ads are used extensively in advertising on the Web, though advertising is not the only application for pop-up windows.
We learned about how companies can and will track what you do on the internet. Every time you get on the internet, they look at what you search on Google or Bing, and take those interests and use them to their advantage. When Pop-ups occur on your screen, they are most likely about what you like, and things you would buy. Companies like that look at you age, gender, and race to determine what ads to show you. All this is mostly about money, companies just wanting to make you buy things.
Personally I think it is not very fair. So from my understanding, I can't enjoy my time on my computer because you want to make money. Yes, ads are very annoying, but it is only because of your search history. There is one upside to this. When you search things, companies look at what you searched before to compare. This allows you search results to decrease. Although, some people may thing that is a bad thing. I personally think it is a great thing. No one likes to have thousands of pages to go through to find what you want. This affects me because I use the internet a lot. So when I go on the internet I have to expect ads popping up everywhere. Below is a video about tracking and targeting online.
Ways To Shorten Your Search Results:
1. Use key words.
2. Do not provide your email address to different websites.
3. Unsubscribe from websites.
4. Avoid "too good to be true" product deals, and opportunities.
5. Use antivirus software.
6. Disable Internet cookies.
